Regine Basha Lecture: Not This or That but This and That

Regine Basha is an independent curator and writer who has worked internationally. She directed the contemporary art space the Art Gallery of the Bronfman Centre in Montreal, Canada. After graduating from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, her curatorial work focused on context-specific, experimental, and collaborative projects in spaces throughout New York City. She spent five years in Austin, Texas as adjunct curator for the contemporary art space Arthouse. As a curator, Basha is interested in shifting contexts for artists and their work and in exploring specific modes of production and distribution. Basha has consulted for such organizations as the Canadian Consulate General, New York Artist Pension Trust, Art Matters, Art In General, UBS at Miami Basel, Creative Capital, ARCO Madrid, Art Omi, and the Guggenheim, McArthur, and Alpert awards. Her writing has appeared in numerous artist catalogs and in the publications Performing Arts Journal, Cabinet, Modern Painters, Art Papers, Bidoun, and Art L!es.
