Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo
Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo is president of the Turin-based Fondazione Re Rebaudengo, an institution created in 1995 to collect and promote the work of contemporary Italian and international artists. Patrizia Sandretto began collecting in the early 1990s, attracted in particular to photography, feminist artists, and Italian, British, and American art. The foundation was first located in the Palazzo Re Rebaudengo in Guarene d'Alba, near Turin, as a place to show the collection to the public and to host exhibitions and was later moved it to its present location in Turin in 2002. The Fondazione Sandretto has staged numerous exhibitions of international art, and works from the collection have been included in exhibitions at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis and the Serpentine Gallery in London, among others.
