Ostendarp Named Assistant Professor in Art
Carl Ostendarp has been hired as an assistant professor on a tenure track in the art department, effective July 1, 2013. Ostendarp, who has been a visiting assistant professor since 2000 and is currently the director of graduate studies for the department, was awarded the position after a national search.
Focused on a painting practice that explores the continuing development of pictorial abstraction, Ostendarp has participated in 33 solo national and international museum and gallery exhibitions, and more than 180 group exhibitions. His work is represented by the Elizabeth Dee Gallery, New York City; Galerie Schmidt Maczollek, Cologne, Germany; and Carrol and Sons, Boston.
