Michael Sorkin is an architect and urbanist whose practice spans design, criticism, and teaching. A prolific writer, his books include Variations on A Theme Park (1992), Exquisite Corpse (1994), Local Code (1996), Wiggle (1998), Some Assembly Required (2001), Twenty Minutes in Manhattan (2009), and All Over the Map (2013). He is principal of the Michael Sorkin Studio, a design practice devoted to both practical and theoretical projects at all scales. Sorkin is a distinguished professor at the City College of New York, where he directs the Graduate Urban Design Program.
