Metro's Transit-Oriented Development Program: Building the Capacity of the Private Sector to Develop Projects that Meet Regional Planning Objectives

Leila Aman is currently a development project manager in the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Program at Metro, the Portland, Oregon-area’s regional planning government. Metro’s TOD Program provides financial incentives and utilizes public/private partnerships to enhance the economic feasibility of higher density mixed-use projects served by transit. Prior to joining Metro, Aman was a project manager at Fregonese Associates specializing in housing, redevelopment analysis and the application of Geographic Information Systems for land-use planning. As part of the Fregonese Associates team, Aman led a housing-needs analysis for the Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus and Metropolis 2020, the City of Compton, California visioning process, and the Exposition Line redevelopment analysis, in Los Angeles. Aman received an M.R.P. from Cornell University and a B.S. from Portland State University.
