Matthew Hall: The Spatial Context of Housing Discrimination

Sibley Hall

Matthew Hall is an associate professor in the Department of Policy Analysis and Management at Cornell University. He is a sociologist and demographer whose research focuses broadly on racial and ethnic inequality, immigration, and neighborhood change. His recent research has followed three main veins: the rise of "new destinations" where immigration has been recent and rapid, and its consequences for intergroup relations; the incorporation of low-skill and unauthorized immigrants into U.S. labor and housing markets; and changes in the nature of racial stratification and segregation in residential settings. In addition to these research efforts, Hall teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in demography, immigration policy, and statistics.
