Massimo Casavola: Architecture and Media: Cine-Città
Cornell in Rome Spring 2008 Lecture Series
Massimo Casavola teaches architectural and urban design at the Architecture School of The University of Rome “La Sapienza” at Valle Giulia. Casavola’s strong interest in new technologies led to his founding and directing the CDCC, which became the Mediateca di Architettura Valle Giulia in 2000. Casavola has authored numerous projects, publications, and videos dedicated to architecture, many of which study the image of the city in movement in cinema. In 2003 he promoted a campaign to save the elevated highway Tangenziale Est in Rome for the purpose of transforming it into a green urban pedestrian artery.
