Cornell in Rome Fall 2018 Lecture Series

Mario Cucinella is the founder of Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA), based in Bologna. With more than 20 years of professional practice, MCA has developed extensive experience in sustainable practices ranging from individual residences to urban master plans. Honors include the 2017 American Institute of Architects' Honorary Fellowship Award and the 2016 Royal Institute of British Architects International Fellowship. Cucinella is the curator of the Italian Pavilion at the 2018 Venice Biennale of Architecture.

In 2012, Cucinella founded Building Green Futures, a nonprofit organization that promotes sustainable development through green architecture and urban regeneration. In 2015, he founded the School of Sustainability (SOS), a multidisciplinary, postgraduate program in Bologna. SOS serves as a nexus for the exchange of knowledge for the building industry, the community, and the profession.
