Marcello Balbo: Migration Policies for the Inclusive City

Marcello Balbo is professor of urban studies at the IUAV (University Institute of Architecture of Venice). An expert in the management of urban centers in developing countries, Balbo has been a consultant for the United Nations, the European Union and the Cooperazione Italiana. He has published extensively on subjects involving urbanization and local development in developing countries. In addition to his position as Coordinator of the Network-Association of European Researchers on Urbanization in the South, Balbo is currently head of a research project conducted by the planning department for the UN-Habitat on the theme of “Urban Policies and Practices Addressing International Migration.”
