Judith Clifton: The Impact of Austerity on Local Public Services in Europe

Judith Clifton is an associate professor of economics at the University of Cantabria, Spain. She is also an affiliated senior research fellow and faculty of Social Sciences at Open University, UK. After completing a master's degree in contemporary international studies at the University of Leeds in 1993, Clifton received her Ph.D. in Political Economy from the University of Oxford in 1997. She has lectured at the University of Oxford, Leeds, and Oviedo. Clifton has also been a visiting research scholar at El Colegio de México, Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científica, and the European University Institute. Her research interests include public services, privatization, economic, and public policy change. Clifton is editor-in-chief of Journal of Economic Policy Reform.
