Jimenez Lai: The Function of Utopia

Jimenez Lai is the founder of Los Angeles studio Bureau Spectacular. He is currently a visiting faculty at Columbia University and heads a "supra studio" at UCLA. He previously worked for various international offices, including OMA. Lai's work has been widely published and exhibited around the world and is in the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Art Institute of Chicago, and Los Angeles County Museum of Art. His first book, Citizens of No Place, was published by Princeton Architectural Press in 2012, with a grant from the Graham Foundation. In 2014 he represented Taiwan at the 14th Venice Biennale of Architecture.
