Jeffrey Raven: Toward an Ecological City in Northern Vietnam

Seminar on International Planning

Jeffrey Raven is director for sustainable planning and urban design, The Louis Berger Group. Raven is a specialist in green design and integrated planning, from green strategies, urban development, transportation, architecture and public policy — all integrated within this emerging field.

One of the poorest and most heavily damaged regions in Vietnam during the colonial and American wars, this strategic plan for a provincial capital in Northern Vietnam seeks to develop Thanh Hoa as an emerging ecological city and regional economic/institutional center through a coherent, sustainable development framework. The lecture will focus on three scales: regional, city and detailed urban design.

Sponsored by the Department of City and Regional Planning and the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies
