J. Meejin Yoon: Projects in Play

J. Meejin Yoon is an architect, designer, and educator. She is an associate professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and founder of MY Studio and Howeler + Yoon Architecture (MYS/HYA). MYS/HYA's work is featured in the 2006 National Design Triennial at the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. Selected in 2007 for the Architectural League of New York Emerging Voices Series, MYS/HYA’s work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in New York , the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia , the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art. Their work has been reviewed and published in the New York Times, Boston Globe, the New Yorker, Domus, Archis, and ID Magazine. Yoon is the recipient of the Rome prize in 2005, Metro New York’s Five under 35 Award in 2005, the Young Architects Award from the Architectural League of New York in 2002, and a Fulbright Fellowship to Seoul , Korea in 1997. She is the author/designer of Absence, published by Printed Matter and the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2003.
