Helene Furja: Synthetic Urbanisms
Helene Furjan teaches history, theory, and design at the University of Pennsylvania School of Design. Furjan practices with the firm Jeremy Leman, which received a national design award in New Zealand in 1992. Her essays and reviews have appeared in many journals including Gray Room, AAFiles, Assemblage, Casabella, and Journal of Architecture. She recently published Crib Sheets: Notes on the Contemporary Architectural Conversation, co-edited with Sylvia Lavin. Her current research investigates special effects, networks, complexity theory and epigenesis in architecture.
