Hannah Lang: Introspection

Various pointed lines against a dark speckled background.

Slide 26 (2017), lithography, 20" x 30".

Introspection is a look inside of a black shale formation in British Columbia. The prints in this show use imagery collected from thin sections of the rock under a microscope. The motive for this project is to provide a setting for a person of any background to observe the beauty and intricacy of thin section imagery, and to understand the history of how this formation came to be. While the story of this black shale is unique, its structure is not entirely foreign.

Introspection is an exhibition of new work by Hannah Lang '18.
