Gabriela Jimenez: Resilient Forms

Gabriela Jimenez's (M.F.A. '11) thesis exhibition focuses on domestic space and displacement. Jimenez's artwork is concerned with the human/social need for a sense of place, of authentic human attachment and belonging. Recycled materials, such as found objects and used clothes, merge with different spaces to reference the shantytowns of her city of origin, Bogotá, and explore the shifting notion of home.

Resilient Forms is a project made in part simultaneously at two different geographic locations, Bogotá and Ithaca. It could not have been possible without the help of Yolanda Guarín and Manuela Jimenez.
