Abstract

In an institutional context that increasingly emphasizes cohesion, collaboration, and conceptual alignment, Apples & Oranges offers something else: incongruity, disjunction, and the aesthetic awkwardness of adjacency. Installed in close proximity yet developed in intellectual isolation, the works presented here are less a collective statement than an ensemble of solitudes—ripe for premature comparison.

It foregrounds the fruitful discomfort of not-knowing: of strangers in a shared space, of parallel practices orbiting separate concerns, of young artists articulating first gestures toward thesis in the absence of shared language.

Apples & Oranges features work by the following artists (all B.F.A. ’26):

  • Hamza Ayad
  • Nadia Holcomb
  • Su Jin Kang
  • Andy Lasson
  • Angelina Di Maria
  • Jake Tannen
