Ashkin Work on Display in Seoul
A sculptural installation by associate professor of art Michael Ashkin, constructed entirely of cardboard, was on display at Atsonje Center in Seoul in June. The 2008 work was part of the exhibition A More Perfect Day: Collection of Mudam Luxembourg. Ashkin’s piece is titled with a 20-line poem — first line: Untitled (where the toll for dreaming is exacted daily upon awakening). Sunny Kim (B.F.A. ’12) provided the Korean translation of the title for the exhibition’s catalog. The show is curated by Samuso’s Sunjung Kim and Hyejin Lim, and Mudam Luxembourg’s Enrico Lunghi and Marie-Noëlle Farcy.
