Anupama Kundoo's architectural practice, started in 1990, focuses on material research to achieve architecture of low environmental impact and of development of building technologies that are socio-economically beneficial. The practice is supported by extensive research and experimentation. She has worked, researched, and taught architecture at TU in Berlin, AA in London, TU in Darmstadt, Parsons New School of Design in New York City, and University of Queensland in Brisbane. Currently she is a professor at University Camilo Jose Cela in Madrid.

Kundoo's projects and writing have been featured in a range of books, journals, and newspapers including Phaidon World Atlas of Contemporary Architecture, AD Architectural Design London, Architecture Australia, Architectural Review Australia, India Today, Bauwelt, and Duurzaam Bowen. As sustainability consultant to ICAEN (Institut Catala d’Energia) for an Asia-Urbs partnership project of the European Commission from 2012–14, she coedited the sustainable building design manuals Sustainable Building Design Manual Vols. 1 and 2 which reflect a partnership between municipalities of London, Barcelona, and Gurgaon in India. In 2009 she authored a book, Roger Anger: Research on Beauty, about the life and work of a prominent Parisian architect (1923–2008) of the 50s and 60s, who was appointed the chief architect of Auroville, an idealistic city project located in South India.

The jury of the 2013 ArcVision International Prize for Women and Architecture awarded Kundoo an honorable mention for "her dedication when approaching the problem of affordability of construction and sustainability in all aspects." Kundoo was born in Pune, India and graduated from Sir JJ College of Architecture, University of Bombay in 1989 and received her Ph.D. from the Technische Universität Berlin in 2008.
