Ole Amundsen III, visiting lecturer in the Department of City and Regional Planning, has been touring the country conducting training sessions in planning for land trusts, based on his new book Strategic Conservation Planning, published by the Land Trust Alliance. Amundsen has been working for the Otsego Land Trust (Cooperstown, NY), updating their land conservation plan, which was produced in 2004 by the CRP 558 workshop class. That plan won the National APA award for outstanding student project. This fall, Amundsen will present a case study at the New York Land Use Roundtable, convened by the Great Lakes Commission on land conservation and brownfield redevelopment of the Niagara Escarpment in Lockport.
