International Studies in Planning Fall 2014 Lecture Series

Alex Steinberger is an urban planner with a strong foundation in real estate economics, urban design, and GIS. As a scenario planning consultant with Fregonese Associates, Steinberger has been instrumental in the development of Envision Tomorrow land-use planning tools including enhancements to the return on investment model within Envision Tomorrow. Before joining Fregonese Associates, Steinberger coordinated and provided detailed analysis for large infrastructure projects with the Oregon Department of Transportation. He also worked as a GIS analyst creating 3D city models for Google, as well as for various state and local governments across the country. Steinberger has a bachelor's degree in economics from UCLA and a master's degree in urban and regional planning from Portland State University, where he also received a professional certificate in GIS.
