On the Mass Shooting in Buffalo

Dear AAP community —

This weekend we all learned that another act of violence has taken lives and forever changed a community close to ours. The mass shooting in Buffalo, NY, on Saturday was quickly confirmed as racially motivated, adding to the sadness, fear, and anger many of us feel as we process this hateful act that is both horrendous, and tragically, far too common in our world today.

President Pollack shared a statement yesterday on behalf of the university that I encourage you to read. At AAP, we will continue to work for equity and justice, and the safety and well-being of all. This work is as critical as it has ever been to making the change we need and need now.

Should you have any questions about university resources or the different forms of support available to you at the college, please reach out to AAP Director of Student Services, Jenn Michael at jlm497@cornell.edu or AAP Director of Diversity and Inclusion, Latesha Fussell at lsf56@cornell.edu.

Sincerely,

Meejin
