CRPConnect! is a multi-day symposium to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the department of City and Regional Planning. This event will showcase the strength of our research, practice, and community on Cornell’s Ithaca campus.

We hope you’ll join us October 22–24, 2026, to connect with faculty and former classmates, share your work, find a mentor, present your research, network with colleagues, find internship candidates, visit downtown Ithaca, and more.

Deadline to submit is June 30, 2026.

Accommodations

A block of rooms at Hotel Ithaca is being held for symposium guests. Make your reservation.

Thursday, October 22

5-7 p.m.: Welcome reception in Abby and Howard Milstein Auditorium and Sibley Urban Commons

 

Friday, October 23

9–10 a.m.: Opening Plenary: Dean and Chair’s State of AAP and CRP. Alumni panel to discuss: What does a cutting edge and transformative CRP look like in 10 years?

10–10:30 a.m.: Coffee break

10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.: Parallel Panel Sessions in West Sibley Classrooms

12–1 p.m.: Lunch

1–2:30 p.m.: Career Pathways Explorations. Early to Mid Career Pathways in Sibley Hall; Mid to Senior Leadership Pathways at Cornell Botanical Gardens.

2:30–4 p.m.: Keynote panel: Celebration of Innovative, Hopeful Planning Practices

5–6:30 p.m.: Happy Hour on the Commons hosted by Student Organizations

 

Saturday, October 24

8:30–9:30 a.m.: Networking Breakfast and Student Poster Session in Milstein Dome

9:30–11 a.m.: Keynote Panel: How can planners and other city change-makers effectively and strategically understand and respond to the current political moment?

11 a.m.–12:30 p.m.: Parallel Panel Sessions

12:30–1:30 p.m.: Lunch

1:30–3:30 p.m.: CRP Workshop: What is the future of CRP and how can alumni engage to achieve that vision?

3:30–4:30 p.m.: Workshop Report Out and Closing Remarks

4:30–5:30 p.m.: Closing reception hosted by Cornell Planning Alumni Organization (location TBA)
