Abstract

Erika Ranee will present her work chronologically, beginning with her early representational paintings from the 1990s and ending with her current abstract paint explorations.

Erika Ranee is the fall 2025 Teiger Mentor in the Arts.

Erika Ranee

Erika Ranee received her M.F.A. in painting from UC Berkeley. She is the recipient of a NYFA Fellowship in Painting (1996 and 2021); an AIM Fellowship at the Bronx Museum; a residency at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and a studio grant from the Marie Walsh Sharpe Art Foundation. Selected group shows include the Landing Gallery, California; Hollis Taggart Gallery, Connecticut; BRIC Project Room, New York; the Milton Resnick & Pat Passlof Foundation, New York; and Brigitte Mulholland Galerie, Paris. In 2024, Ranee’s work was selected by artist Jeffrey Gibson for the Brooklyn Artists anniversary exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum. The following summer, she had her first career survey at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech. In 2025, her work was on view in group exhibitions at PPOW and CANADA, and a solo presentation at Klaus von Nichtssagend, New York City. Her work has been reviewed in Artforum and The New York Times.
