About the ACSP Annual Conference

The Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning (ACSP) will hold its Annual Conference from November 7–9, 2024, in Seattle, Washington.

The ACSP Annual Conference is an opportunity for academics and researchers to present their ideas to other experts in the academy, inviting discussion of their latest project to ultimately strengthen their work.

The focal theme for this year’s conference is Advancing Anti-Racism in Planning for Just, Equitable, Diverse, and Inclusive Cities. Planning plays a role in shaping our cities and communities. It holds the potential to perpetuate and worsen racial inequalities. The annual conference of 2024 aims to address this pressing matter by focusing on advancing anti-racism in planning to create inclusive cities. This central theme recognizes the need to dismantle the racism ingrained within planning education, processes, policies, and practices. The conference will be a space for conversation about the intersections between anti-racist approaches with other critical approaches (e.g., feminism, (post)colonial, LBGTQIA+, Marxist, etc.).

Cornell faculty, students, and alums will be well represented across the conference’s various functions, including roundtable discussions and paper presentations.
