Lectures & External Guests
Cornell in Rome hosts a dynamic lecture series featuring Italian and international speakers in architecture, art, and planning. Faculty select speakers based on their relevance to coursework and discussions.
These lectures are open to the public, allowing students to engage with scholars from other institutions and connect with Italian professionals.

In addition to the lecture series, national and international guests regularly participate in studio critiques, bringing diverse perspectives and expertise to student work. Guest critics — practicing architects, artists, curators, and scholars — offer constructive feedback, challenge design approaches, and encourage critical thinking. Their insights help students refine their creative processes, engage with contemporary discourse, and consider broader cultural and professional contexts.
This immersive, hands-on approach fosters a deeper, and often transformative understanding of architecture, art, and planning.
