Edith Adams and Walter King Stone Memorial Prize
The Edith Adams and Walter King Stone Memorial Prize was established as a memorial to Edith Adams Stone and Walter King Stone. Students in their junior year are eligible to apply, and will be selected for this award on the basis of promise and accomplishment in the field of art.
Gibian-Rosewater Traveling Research Award
The Gibian-Rosewater Traveling Research Award is the result of a generous gift provided to the Department of Art by Mark Gibian (M.F.A. ’79) and Marcy Rosewater. This award is offered annually in the spring of each academic year to provide support to an undergraduate art student during their sophomore or junior year for the purpose of completing a proposed project that requires research-related travel.
The John B. “Kip” Brady Prize
The Brady Prize was named for one of our honored alumni, Kip Brady, and is awarded annually to the most promising student(s) in the field of printmaking.
The David R. Bean Prize in Fine Arts
The Bean Prize was established by Mr. and Mrs. Albert (B.A. ’43) Bean in memory of their son, David Richard Bean (B.A. ’71). It is awarded annually to B.F.A. students who will be participating in the Cornell in Rome program, to assist with the development of their artistic practice during their studies abroad.
The Charles Baskerville Painting Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Charles Baskerville (1896–1994), Cornell class of 1919, to assist Cornell students in the field of painting. It is awarded annually to graduating B.F.A. or M.F.A. students.
Distinguished Achievement Award
The Distinguished Achievement Award is given annually to a member or members of the graduating class in the Department of Art who have shown great promise of future achievement in the field of art.
Elsie Dinsmore Popkin ’58 Art Award
This award was founded in 2006 by the members of the Class of ’58, in memory of Elsie Dinsmore Popkin, and is awarded to a graduating B.F.A. student who, in the judgement of the Department of Art, has the best thesis.
Ezra Colin Cornell Award in Digital Media
The Ezra Colin Cornell Award in Digital Media is awarded annually to students who show accomplishments of demonstrated excellence in digital photography or videography in the field of art.
Faculty Medal of Art
The Faculty Medal of Art is awarded each year to a member or members of the graduating B.F.A. class whose academic record and studio work, in faculty opinion, demonstrates the greatest promise of future achievement in the field of art.
