At Cornell AAP, artmaking is about creating objects, spaces, and experiences that reflect critical engagement, philosophical understanding, historical knowledge, and ethical principles that intersect with life within and beyond the studio, where artists make an impact on the world and shape the future. Spend the summer with Cornell AAP and experiment with different media, ways of making, and critically engaging the world through creative practice.

Evolution of The Foundry at Cornell

Thanks to a generous gift from Cornell trustee emeritus and mechanical engineering alumnus Robert T. Blakely III ‘63, ‘65, and his wife, Pinky Keehner, the space underwent extensive renovation this past summer and art students and faculty now have access to an expanded classroom that doubles the size of the sculpture area named in honor of late art professor emeritus and prolific sculptor Jack Squier (M.F.A. ‘52), as well as to 12 new private graduate student studios and a group critique space.

The B.F.A. Program at Cornell University

Artists are specialists of the imagination, and we're looking for that radical spark in our applicants. Through exploration and research, students build skills and relationships, make connections, and unearth what drives their art making so that they can be the artist they want to be in the world. Applications are due by January 2, 2024.

The Soil Factory Receives Warhol Foundation Grant

A local, community-run space for exploring art, science, and ecology, the dynamic organization was selected for new multi-year funding at a "transformative moment." The proposal was crafted collaboratively by AAP art faculty, CALS faculty and a post-doc associate, and Ithaca-area community members.
