The Coney Island Aquatic center was initially conceived as individual blocks of volumes that constitute all of the programmatic functions necessary for storm water management, efficiency, and sustainability. The new center aims to create an intimate environment with qualities that are vastly different from the realm of the beach. This is a place that offers play, leisure, and relaxation to the beachgoers, while at the same time providing the necessary exercise facilities to the local residences.
