Who we are?
The Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP) is a Department of Homeland Security initiative established in 2008 to encourage collaborative emergency planning in America’s largest region. The RCPGP has three primary goals:
● Fix shortcomings in existing plans.
● Build regional planning communities.
● Link operational and capabilities-based resource planning.
The regional project site for the New York City and Northern New Jersey also includes Long Island, several New York counties, and parts of Connecticut and Pennsylvania. WIth a population of 22,000,000 people, this region is home to nearly 1 in every 14 Americans. The RCPT has partnered with Public Health Solutions to administer the grant.
The Regional Logistics Program is an initiative within the RCPGP designed to link resources, expertise and information among participating jurisdictions in NY, NJ, CT and PA. By creating a shared standard and strengthening regional partnerships, the Region optimizes its ability to manage resources and respond to a catastrophic event. The Program focuses on four core components: planning, information-sharing, resource management and the establishment of highly-trained emergency response logistics teams.

Description: The Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP) is looking for highly motivated individuals to join the Regional Logistics Program as a Logistics Planner.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Regional Logistics Program Manager, the selected applicant will be responsible for evaluating and implementing technology to support catastrophic incident response and recovery. The Logistics Planner will have broad responsibility for developing and providing technical advice to partner jurisdictions and agencies regarding logistics technologies, including their evaluation and eventual implementation. Specifically, the applicant will spearhead research and development on:
(1) XML-based interoperable data-sharing capabilities that can be used to link resource ordering and planning processes from local, to state, to federal governments and back down to the requestor.
(2) Field-deployable technologies to track resources and assets throughout emergency supply chains, from the point of embarkation to the end-user.
The Logistics Planner will be expected to assess the jurisdiction and agency needs, evaluate customized and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions, establish and oversee test-bed evaluation, modify technical solutions, as required and provide input for potential training modules. In addition, the Logistics Planner will be expected to organize / manage a specific technology working group and maintain critical relationships with partner jurisdictions and agencies.
