Description: The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority, (RIPTA) is seeking a Director of Finance.
The job is targeted at financial professionals, but the focus on capital budgeting may make it a good fit for Planners or Architects who have financial experience and interest.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director is responsible for overseeing the activities of the Department to ensure accurate and timely analysis/dissemination of financial information. Leads the Department's business process re-engineering and modernization initiatives. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a business related field is required; Master's Degree or CPA certification is required. Must have excellent decision making and customer service skills and possess excellent communications skills both orally and in writing. Must be proficient in capital and operating budgets development and analysis. Must be computer literate utilizing Microsoft applications and possess excellent analytical skills. A minimum of seven (7) years related experience in the management and/or oversight of operating and capital budgeting is required. Knowledge of public finance, particularly state and US DOT funded programs a definite plus. Prior supervisory experience required.
