Shingo Masuda is founder and partner of Shingo Masuda + Katsuhisa Otsubo Architects, a Tokyo-based architecture firm founded in 2007. The firm's work has won several architectural prizes, including the Japanese publication SD Review award in 2008 and 2009, the Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association (JCD) Award Gold Prize in 2011 and 2014, runner-up in the AR Emerging Architecture Awards from Architectural Review in 2011, and winner of the AR Emerging Architecture Awards from Architectural Review in 2014. They have also been selected to be part of the team for Japanese Pavilion of the Venice Biennale 2016.
Their works have been published across the world, in publications including Japan Architects, Global Architecture, and Architecture Review.
Masuda graduated with a bachelor of arts in architecture from Musashino Art University, and has been a lecturer and critic in the department of architecture at the Musashino Art University since 2010.
