Erik den Breejen (M.F.A. '06) was born in Berkeley in 1976. He is a graduate of Cornell University where he received his M.F.A. in 2006, and the California College of the Arts, where he received his B.F.A. in 1999. Recent solo exhibitions include Song of the Earth (2016), and There's a Riot Goin' On (2014) at Freight and Volume in New York City. Den Breejen's work is in collections throughout the world, including the Kistefos Collection in Norway. He recently completed a permanent, two-story indoor mural of Atlantic Records' founder Ahmet Ertegun, commissioned by the label as the centerpiece of their new headquarters in New York City. den Breejen is a 2015 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow in painting. He lives and works in Brooklyn.
