Art alumnae: historical paintings and urban installations

The large-scale crocheted doilies of Jennifer Cecere (B.F.A. '73) were featured in an article in the March/April issue of Crochet Daily. Cecere recently displayed a 20-foot-diameter doily at the Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, and also won an Urban Art Program competition sponsored by the New York City Department of Transportation that allowed her to paint doily patterns on Jersey barriers throughout the area.

The Lost Synagogues of Europe, Andrea Strongwater's (B.F.A. '70) recreation of synagogues destroyed before, during, and shortly after World War II, was exhibited at the Edmond J. Safra Synagogue in New York City in February.
