Palestinian Home Demolitions: Lebanon, Jordan Valley, and Jerusalem
Beth Harris is an associate professor in the Department of Politics at Ithaca College. Her book
Defending the Right to a Home: The Power of Anti-Poverty Lawyers analyzes the effectiveness of class action litigation for leveraging resources for homeless families in U.S. cities. She is now researching the role of the witness in challenging injustices under conditions where the courts lack jurisdiction to hold the perpetrators accountable. Specifically, Harris examines the demolition of Palestinians' houses, which draws on both Harris’s concern with claims concerning the right to a home and her interest in witnessing strategies.
