Beginning in spring of 2011 the Cornell Urban Scholars Program (CUSP) will be moving to the Cornell in Washington Program where, in partnership with Cornell's Public Service Center, it will provide spring-semester opportunities for students interested in social and environmental justice in the Washington, DC area.
From 2002–09 CUSP, funded by the Heckscher Foundation and others, operated several different programs based in New York City. These included the summer undergraduate internship and graduate research fellowships.

The related Cornell Urban Mentorship Initiative (CUMI), formerly part of CUSP, continues to link Cornell undergraduates with middle school students in Brooklyn.
