Eligibility
Seniors, juniors, sophomores, and freshmen from any Cornell University college, department, or program may apply. Ithaca College (IC) students are also eligible. Applicants must:
- Have an interest in urban social-justice issues
- Have a strong academic record and history of community engagement
- Be enrolled at Cornell or IC during the full academic year (applicants may not participate in a study-abroad program)
- Be available to serve as mentor from August 2010 to May 2011
- Enroll in CRP 3301 / Urban Mentorship Initiative or the equivalent new course in fall 2010 and spring 2011. This course will be a total of 3 credits over two semesters
- Attend a two-day field trip to New York City in September 2010
- Participate in a three-day host trip in both November/December 2010 and February 2011
- Participate in mentor-mentee Urban Assembly program in May 2011
