AAP will hold its commencement ceremony immediately following the university's ceremony. At the AAP ceremony, the college individually recognizes each graduate and the ceremony is followed by a reception for students, their family, and friends.

Departmental Receptions:

Department of City and Regional Planning: Friday, May 24 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. outside of Sibley Hall under the tent.

Department of Art: Saturday, May 25 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in John Hartell Gallery, Sibley Dome

Department of Architecture: Saturday, May 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the A. D. White House, Cornell University

Learn about AAP's diversity programs in addition to learning about diversity student opportunities, resources, and student engagement.

Monday, August 26

Department Meetings and Lunch

Meet with your department faculty and staff to find out about first-year courses, equipment lists for studios, and other important information. Get to know your classmates over lunch. Attendance is mandatory for all AAP first-year students.

The Rand Shop team will give demonstrations of the fabrication facility in Rand Hall, which includes a fully equipped digital fabrication lab, wood shop, and metal shop.

B.F.A. students will tour art studios with faculty and current students.

AAP Study Abroad Opportunities, Abby and Howard Milstein Auditorium

If you are thinking about studying abroad or other off-campus opportunities, this session will give you the tools to make it possible. Explore semester-long options offered through Cornell in Rome, AAP NYC, Cornell Abroad, as well as department-specific summer programs. Topics will include off-campus options, language preparation, and travel safety.

1:30–3 p.m.

AAP New Student Orientation and Reception, Abby and Howard Milstein Auditorium

This is an important, mandatory new student orientation for all new AAP students to discuss the academic calendar, campus resources, and campus safety. The briefing will include a current student panel to help answer first-year and transfer questions. Reception to follow.

3–3:45 p.m.

AAP Information Technology (IT) Overview, Abby and Howard Milstein Auditorium

The AAP IT team will discuss the services available to you including printing, plotting, rendering, hardware, software, support, scanning, and workshops.
