The Department of Art once again played host to a varied group of speakers during its fall 2010 lecture series.
Speakers included writer and curator Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, master printer and art director Cole Rogers, artist and printer Phil Sanders, Brooklyn artist and teacher John Jurajy, Beijing artist Jia Aili, Indian artist A. Balasubramaniam, art historian and author Tom McDonough, and South African multi-media artist Berni Searle.
Exhibition highlights were Tarjama/Translation at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, a group show that included work by John Jurajy, and Jia Aili's Dharma Bums exhibition in the John Hartell Gallery, which concluded with the erasing of his large-scale charcoal images by student participants.
