John Jurayj lives and works in Brooklyn and currently teaches at the School of Visual Arts in New York City in addition to AAP NYC. Recent solo shows include; Untitled Lebanon (Fragments) at the Third Line Gallery in Dubai, December 2010; Untitled (Undead) at Walter Maciel Gallery in Los Angeles, March 2010 and at Participant Inc. in New York City in June 2011; and shows at Alberto Peola Gallery in Torino Italy and the Massimo Audiello Gallery in New York City. Recent group shows include; Noise at Sfeir-Semler Gallery, Beirut, Lebanon, 2010; Translation/Tarjama at the Queens Museum of Art, 2009; and Exposure 2009 at Beirut Art Center, Beirut, Lebanon, 2009. Jurayj is represented in a variety of public and private collections including the Hirschhorn Museum of Art, the British Museum of Art, and Harvard's Schwartz Collection. He received his M.F.A. from Bard College in 2005 and B.F.A. from Washington University in 1990.
