Lara Baladi is an artist working with the reproducible image in various media and formats. Born in Lebanon in 1969, Baladi has lived in Beirut, Paris, and London. Her work has been exhibited internationally at various spaces around the Middle East, the United States, Japan, and Europe and is part of many contemporary art collections, including the Fondation Cartier in Paris, the Museet for Fotokunst in Copenhagen, the Audi Bank in Beirut, and most recently, the Pori Art Museum in Finland. Baladi has participated in several ongoing international touring exhibitions, among which are Africa Remix (2004–07), I-Dentity (2005–07), and Snap Judgments (2006–08). Baladi was selected to be one of the seven artists to show installations at the first Gulf Art Fair in March 2007 in Dubai. She received a fellowship from the Japan Foundation in 2003 and is a member of the Beirut-based Fondation Arabe pour l'Image. She has lived and worked in Cairo since 1997.
