Maria Hurtado de Mendoza is a founding partner of estudio.entresitio, where she works together with César Jiménez de Tejada and her brother José María Hurtado de Mendoza. Most of the completed commissions that they have developed have won in public competitions. Among various international awards, they were selected Design Vanguard 2007 by
Architectural Record and their work has been published in different countries, resulting in being invited to lecture throughout Europe.
Hurtado de Mendoza has been teaching architectural design at the Madrid’s Architecture School (ETSAM-UPM) for the past 12 years. In 1993 Maria graduated as an architect from Madrid’s Architecture School (ETSAM-UPM). After graduation she had the chance to spend one year in Rome, as scholar of the Spanish Academy, and through the years she has also taught at various architecture schools such as Mendrisio, Venice, and Paris-La Villette as tutor for the student exchange program Erasmus.
