Each year, AAP enrolls approximately 107 new first-year students: 52 in architecture; 30 in art; and 25 in urban and regional studies. In addition, about 15–20 transfer students matriculate in the college annually across the three departments. AAP applicants apply specifically to one of our three departments.
Once an application is complete, a faculty committee from the applicant's major makes the admissions decision. Each department has its own admissions criteria and requirements. Please review the following pages carefully:
General Requirements
Calendar and Deadlines
Applicants who do not meet all admissions requirements and/or fail to meet deadlines will be at a disadvantage in the admissions process.
The
AAP Admissions Office is available to answer any questions and can be contacted by mail, email, or phone.
Freshman or Transfer?

- will complete secondary school during the current academic year
- are seeking early admission after their junior year
- have graduated from secondary school but have earned fewer than 12 credits at a college or university
Prospective students should apply as transfer students if they have earned 12 or more college credits since graduating from secondary school.
