AAP NYC: Bachelor of Fine Arts Semester

AAP NYC is a dynamic site from which to explore contemporary art and visual culture, and to create art that is responsive to urban issues and life. The semester for bachelor of fine arts (B.F.A.) students is a collaboratively developed and conceptually linked plan of study with studio, theory, and history classes, plus a two-day per week internship (additional information below).

The art program at AAP NYC is offered in the spring and is planned for second year art majors, though students may opt to attend in their third or fourth year (if pursuing a five-year degree).

In addition to their class work, B.F.A. students have the option to undertake in a two-day-per-week professional placement (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) at one of many prestigious New York City art institutions.
