Request an Interview

Interviews for fall 2009 will be processed beginning September 1, 2008.

Applicants can request an architecture or a fine arts interview using the online Interview Request Form.

Please also review the specific information about interviews and other requirements for the architecture and fine arts programs. Interviews are not required if you are applying to the urban and regional studies major.

Important Note
Architecture and fine arts interviews are evaluative and carry significant weight in the admissions selection process. Please request an interview only if you are quite certain you will be applying to the architecture or fine arts major.

Department of Architecture

Freshman and transfer applicants to the 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program are required to complete a portfolio interview either on campus with an architecture faculty member or with department alumni off campus.

We require an interview for all applicants except those who have attended Cornell's summer program, Introduction to Architecture. The interviews are held on selected Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays beginning in mid-September.

Department of Art

A portfolio interview is strongly recommended but not required for freshman and transfer applicants to the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Interviews are offered only on-campus on selected Mondays and Fridays beginning in mid-September.

Official architecture and fine arts interviews must be arranged through the Architecture, Art, and Planning admissions office.

Deadlines
Interviews must be completed by the following dates:
November 10 (Early decision freshmen and spring transfers)
